Pop rock music is a combination of pop music and rock
music. It has standard verse-chorus pop music that can also be categorized
under rock because using guitars, drums, or piano as based songs. The origins
of the pop rock genre come from 1950’s where the guitar and bass guitar
accompanied such singer as Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry. This kind of music is
catchy to the public. Nowadays, pop rock remains an active, wide-ranging with
much of crossover between other pop styles.
Maroon 5 is the one of top artists in pop rock music.
Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band that created in Los Angeles, California,
United States. While the members were still in high school, they formed this
band as Kara’s Flowers in 1994. This band has original member. They are Adam
Levine as lead vocal and guitarist, Jesse Carmichael as guitarist and backing
vocal, Mickey Madden as bass guitarist, and Ryan Dusick as drummer. In 2001,
the band regrouped and James Valentine added to the line-up as guitarist, and
followed a new direction under the name: Maroon 5. After they changed its name,
Maroon 5 signed with Octocone Records and released a debut album, Songs about Jane. In 2006, Ryan Dusick
officially left the band after getting a serious pain of wrist and shoulder
injuries. He was replaced by Matt Flynn.
Maroon 5 has had many achievements. For example, Maroon
5 won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005; its song, Makes Me Wonder
became its first number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100; Moves like Jagger
reached the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart; the second
single of Overexposed, One More Night, reached number one position on the
Billboard Hot 100 chart. Until now, Maroon 5 has sold about 16 million albums
in the US, over 100 million singles and almost 30 million albums worldwide.
